Welcome to BrainJar. These terms govern your use of the app and outline both your rights and responsibilities as a user.
By creating an account or using BrainJar, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. We may update these terms from time to time, and continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
You must be at least 13 years old to use BrainJar. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
Please use a strong, unique password and notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
You retain ownership of all content you create in BrainJar, including thoughts, folders, habits, and any other entries. We do not claim ownership of your content.
By using BrainJar, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content as necessary to provide the service — including AI-powered classification, organization, and insights as described in our Privacy Policy. This license exists solely to operate BrainJar on your behalf and ends when you delete your content or account.
You agree to use BrainJar in a lawful and respectful manner. You must not:
• Use the app for any illegal purpose
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service or other accounts
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the app
• Interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure
• Use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the service
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these guidelines.
BrainJar offers an optional paid subscription (BrainJar Pro) that unlocks additional features. Subscriptions are billed through Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) and may auto-renew based on your platform settings.
You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your device's account settings. Refunds are subject to the policies of the platform where the purchase was made. We do not process payments or refunds directly.
BrainJar allows you to share thoughts and collaborate on folders with other users. When you share content or invite collaborators, that content becomes visible to the recipients according to the permissions you set.
You are responsible for what you choose to share. Collaborators may view, and in some cases contribute to, shared content within the scope of their assigned role.
BrainJar is a personal productivity and thought organization tool. It uses AI to classify, organize, and surface insights from your content.
BrainJar is not a substitute for professional medical, mental health, legal, or financial advice. AI-generated outputs — including classifications, summaries, and insights — may be inaccurate, incomplete, or not relevant in every case. BrainJar should not be used as a substitute for professional advice or urgent assistance.
BrainJar, including its design, features, branding, and underlying technology, is the intellectual property of BrainJar and its creators. These terms do not grant you any rights to our intellectual property beyond the right to use the app as intended.
Your content remains yours. All rights to the BrainJar service, brand, and technology are reserved by us.
We strive to keep BrainJar available and reliable, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. The service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.
We may update, modify, or discontinue features of BrainJar at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to communicate significant changes in advance.
You may stop using BrainJar and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms or engage in behavior that harms the service or other users.
Upon account deletion, your data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
BrainJar is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the reliability, accuracy, or availability of the service.
We do not guarantee that BrainJar will meet your specific requirements, that the service will be error-free, or that any defects will be corrected within a particular timeframe.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BrainJar and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service.
Our total liability for any claim related to the service shall not exceed the amount you paid for BrainJar in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $50, whichever is greater.
We may revise these Terms of Service from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or by other appropriate means. The most current version will always be available within the app.
Your continued use of BrainJar after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
